50 Men Wearing High Heels Walk Past My Window
Sadly, I do not have pictures of this event. I knew such an activity was planned yesterday but had forgotten it. I simply had other things on my mind, including another thing I had forgotten about — an essay I have due today. (There are times as a writer when you do wish you’d be shot for missing a deadline. It’d solve a lot of your other problems. However, shooting people for...

An Asexual Psychic? My first thought: Really?
Sometimes I do not know whether a lead I come across is newsworthy or not. As much as I wish it to be otherwise, it is often a very slow news day for Asexuals.  It is a rare gem that makes me wonder what the point of an actual article  posted elsewhere was. A recent interview with an Asexual psychic was one  such encounter. At first, I thought the post would place us in with Otherkin. (I know...

I Get Accosted By a Brilliant Photographer
… at least that’s what he said. The bizarre encounter occurred last night. I had decided to go for a walk.  It was a long walk that even managed at some point to evoke my fear of heights. I thought the most I’d worry about is the amount of sweat. I was returning home that night I cam across an old man looking at a car ansd saying he wanted a car like that. He asked me about a...

It is the Soldier, not the poet Who has given us freedom of speech. It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer Who has given us freedom to protest. It is the Soldier, not the lawyer Who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the Soldier,...

The bullying series will end in April. By the way, if you’re not sure how to apply or don’t want to use my conveniently provided e-mail addresses, just contact me here. You need to sign up for the site with your e-mail address.  There is some editorial control in place, although you may never realize it. In any case, I promised my story at the end of April. I don’t think...

Couldn't he give the DJ Easter Off?
Living above a bar is not something I much care for. It’s why I’m happy there’s less than two weeks to go before I move from this efficiency apartment. I can’t say I’ll miss Pottsville and I sure as hell won’t miss living above a bar.  With all that, it’s now 11 p.m. on Easter Sunday and I’m hearing the obnoxious sounds of the disc jockey playing two...

Interesting Late Night Conversations
I’m not a fan of living above a bar. I’m not going to miss this place when I move in May to a place closer to the school. I’m not sure the new neighborhood will be much better, but at least the building is nicer. I’ll also have access to a kitchen, which is not something available at my current location. The First Altercation Interesting things happen outside of a bar,...

A quote from the Starship Troopers book.
Anyone who clings to the historically untrue - and thoroughly immoral - doctrine ‘that violence never settles anything’ I would advise to conjure up the ghosts of Napoleon Bonaparte and of the Duke of Wellington and let them debate it. The ghost of Hitler could referee, and the jury might well be the Dodo, the Great Auk and the Passenger Pigeon. Violence, naked force, has settled more...

I really don’t think it works that way. I thought taking Ayn Rand’s philosophy just turned you into an Ultra-Libertarian who doesn’t realize that many parts of the Objectivist philosophy simply don’t work.

Need Ideas -- Bullying, What Works
Now, I see this is a key phrase people are searching for. I’d like to finish April’s series on Asexual bullying by reaffirming the bullying is a human issue that can affect anyone. I also am curious as to what works. I’ve seen Olweus, but to be honest, it seems like a lot of well-meaning idiocy that lets the bullying take place outside of school grounds.  Of course, this is...

I won't be watching the Doctor Who premier
With all the drama involving the car recently, you might think it slipped my mind that the Doctor Who season premier is tomorrow. It has not. I just have a lot of other things on my mind. Even if I did not have these things on my mind, I’d still have a difficult time watching because my cable only gets cable modem. (And much to my dismay, a lot of things aren’t on Netflix. I...

Stating My Policy on Following People
On Twitter, if you want me to follow you, you have to provide content that is useful, relevant or interesting to me on a relevant basis. If you want the Asexual News page to follow you on Twitter, you have to be an Asexual Site or Organization. This latter policy would be more useful if I had a clue what Facebook meant to do with these pages. I think I should be able to follow people back, but...

Was My Shameless Recruting Post Really That Funny?
I love Cakeyeahasexuals, although sometimes the jokes just aren’t quite there. It’s okay. Not every form of humor appeals to everyone. I’m also flattered they reblogged my post since I’ve been aware of them for several months. On the other hand, I’m not sure they didn’t reblog it as a joke. RIP Sally Corsica
The brake saga with the car is over. The drums and rotor on the car are gone.  A patch repair will not get it back on the road. I’m left with the choice of getting an $800 repair on a car whose value at the moment is probably less than $500 according to Kelly Blue Book. The car drama does not come at a great time for me.  The brake going out a week before college finals does not help me....

Further Automotive Adventures of an Ace Reporter
If you followed the blog several days ago, you know the brakes on my car went out. It’s not the scariest brake adventure I’ve ever had — that would be delivering pizzas with no brakes. HIV and Asexuals -- Not At All Common But Possible
There are times when I want to go off and someone and then realize I’d be, in popular parlance, an “asshole” for doing so. A recent example involves a little gem I cam across in The Savanah Tribune recently. I do not disagree with Mark Anthony Douglas’s overall point. People need to know about the disease, how to prevent it and what the consequences are. I’m just...

Mental Health and Asexuals
Recent discussions about the LGBT teen suicide rate particularly in more conservative areas got me thinking. Although Pennsylvania tends to be more conservative, it is not necessarily heavily Republican. Many people in the state are Blue Collar Democrats.  Having lived in small towns, I can testify it’s rough for LGBT folks.  It’s no picnic for Asexual folks either because most people...

There are times when I wonder if I should defend myself. Such is an example of an egregious faux pas yesterday. I’m human. I make mistakes. In this word,  the key word exclusively was omitted. I think there is a growing disssatisfaction with the lack of more advanced information about Asexuality.   The problem is I’m not exactly sure what to do about it. If you look at the Asexual News website yesterday, you may have found no new articles were posted. You may have assumed it was because of the Day of Silence. Religion and Asexuality
I have been thinking about asking various religious representatives what their opinion on Asexuality might be. The debate about religion and asexuality rages on, although it rages quietly and without much attention. Many such debates around Asexuality are often engaged in quietly. If there is such a thing as an Asexual revolution, it is one of the quietest revolutions in the history of...
